2x Gold medals for Evans & Tate at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024
We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded two Gold Medals at the prestigious international wine show, the Decanter World Wine Awards this year.
Gold Medals were awarded to our 2022 Redbrook Estate Shiraz and the 2020 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
We are very excited to release our 2022 Redbrook Estate Shiraz following this highly coveted award.
These Gold Medals follow a Best in Show win for our 2018 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon last year. We are very pleased to be able to offer an award-winning Decanter two-pack, featuring our newly released 2022 Redbrook Estate Shiraz and the 2018 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. You can shop this two-pack online here.
This year's show saw more than 18,000 entries from 57 countries, tasted by 243 expert judges, including 61 Masters of Wine and 20 Master Sommeliers. Gold Medals were only awarded to 3.6% of the entries this year.
Winemaker Feleasha Prendergast was elated about these results and said:
"It’s always a great honour to be awarded a Gold Medal at this renowned international show. All the hard and diligent work executed by everyone involved in the process, from the vineyard to the bottle, should be very proud.
"Having two wines awarded Gold Medals for our Redbrook range, following a Best in Show at the 2023 awards, is a testament to the continued quality and value of these incredible Margaret River wines."
Western Australia received 16 top medals, including two Best in Show for wines from Margaret River, cementing the quality-driven reputation of its region.
The judges said: “Do Cabernet Sauvignon and Margaret River go together? Well, it’s the fourth time that the combination has been featured in our Best in Show selection – so yes, they do.”
Two of the Margaret River Cabernets the judges refer to are part of the Fogarty Wine Group portfolio. The 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards saw our Evans & Tate 2018 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon awarded a Best in Show and 2022 saw the Deep Woods Estate 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon awarded a coveted Best in Show.
Now in its 21st year, Decanter World Wine Awards has firmly established itself as the world’s most influential wine competition. This year's show saw more than 18,000 entries from 57 countries, tasted by 243 expert judges, including 61 Masters of Wine.
