We're delighted that up against strong competition from 650 wines from across Australia, the Evans & Tate 2016 Redbrook Estate Cabernet Merlot not only featured in Ray Jordan's Top 100 Reds, but scored a fabulous 95 points.
Ray described the wine as "excellent wine that has been beautifully crafted." He went on to note that it is "a beautifully poised and expressive wine capturing the key elements of Margaret River" and that it "has a distinct lift of bay leaf and tobacco leaf on the nose. The palate is influenced by a grainy tannin character that holds the fruit line to the long finish."
Already taking three gold medals, 95 points from Huon Hooke in The Real Review and 94 points from Gary Walsh in The Wine Front, the 2016 Redbrook Estate Cabernet Merlot is definitely a rising star of the award and review circuit. This utterly delicious style is testament to the hard work and talents of Evans & Tate Senior Winemaker Matt Byrne and his team.
