This incredible result follows a huge win at the Sydney Royal Wine Show last month, where the 2021 Redbrook Estate Chardonnay won 3 trophies for Best Wine of Show, Best White, and Best Chardonnay.

The James Halliday Australian Chardonnay and Cabernet Challenge is a celebration of the world’s most popular two varieties and Australia’s outstanding regional diversity. The Challenge is a collaboration between the Margaret River Wine Association and Wine Yarra Valley and this year, Yarra Valley was the host region for the 2023 Challenge. Over 615 wines from around the country were judged and in an epic win, Margaret River wines won both the overall Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon Trophies, once again showing the consistently high quality of wines being produced from this tiny Western Australian wine region. Chair of Judges, Adam Wadewitz, said, “[We] found some real gems that highlight the best examples of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from across Australia. It was exciting to be judging some of the cooler vintages and noting that many of the awarded wines not only look good now but will reward those that can keep them in their cellar long enough.”
