The Redbrook Range: "Defines the wonder of great Margaret River"

The Redbrook Range:

The Redbrook Reserve range represents the pinnacle of Evans & Tate winemaking, highlighting two of Margaret River's hallmark varietals: Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fruit sourced for these ultra-premium wines are from some of the oldest vines (40 years old) in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River. Named after the Wilyabrup Creek, the proximity of this subregion to the Indian Ocean provides cooling maritime breezes, offering ideal growing conditions for high-quality fruit. Ancient, fertile soils impart a unique terroir which has helped to put Margaret River Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon on the world stage.

On the winemaking ethos behind the highly acclaimed Redbrook range, Senior Winemaker Matt Bryne said: "fruit, and hence regional character, is the focal point of the Redbrook Reserve style. Pure Margaret River. This range achieves the difficult balance of providing a wonderfully complex drinking experience without sacrificing fruit freshness and vitality."

These are bold, rich and thought-provoking expressions of Margaret River wine, which will reward for many years to come.

2019 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay

With a Trophy for Best Chardonnay at the Royal Hobart Wine Show 2021 and 8 Gold Medals, the 2019 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay was recently released to high critic acclaim with 95 points in the Halliday Wine Companion 2023. Western Australian wine critic Ray Jordan also awarded the 2019 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay 96 points:

"Oh wow. There is almost a pretty delicacy about this excellent Chardonnay at first then the awesome power kicks in and starts its relentless drive to that super long finish. Has a crunchy juicy mid palate with fine chalky acidity and a fine citrus tang balancing the complex savoury notes. Finishes dry and long."

Senior Winemaker Matt Byrne believes this is one of Margaret River's most premium Chardonnay offerings. He said: "It will very slowly develop more subtle complexities and character for years to come ... The palate is seamless, refreshing and tight with ever-lingering flavour that is a highlight of a great 2019 Margaret River vintage."

2017 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2017 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies the best of Margaret River. Senior Winemaker Matt Byrne said: "The cool 2017 vintage in Margaret River was not typical yet has produced a Redbrook Cabernet that is distinctly from Margaret River and Evans & Tate – the perfumed aromatics and silken nature of this wine is a trait of the 2017 vintage and enhances the style of this world-renowned variety. A delicious and highly memorable wine experience."

Awarded 96 points in the Halliday Wine Companion 2022, renowned wine critic Erin Larkin said:

"The cooler year has birthed yet another Cabernet of delicacy, length and finesse. Matt Byrne's Redbrook Reserve Cabernet is worthy of the same praise heaped upon prior vintages. Succulent red fruits and densely packed flavour held together with fine-knit tannins. Ready to drink now, but with a determined future in the cellar, too – this is what defines the wonder of great Margaret River Cabernet."

Carefully cellared and bottle aged for six years, this is an absolutely remarkable wine with intense flavours of bay leaf, blackcurrant, olive tapenade and cocoa, enveloped by dense, ripe tannins.
