3 x 95 points at James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge
It is no secret that Australia makes a cracking Chardonnay with Margaret River being arguably one of the best regions for this noble varietal. To take home 95 points for three wines from Australia’s most influential Chardonnay show is not only recognition of the great talent behind our team but also the superb quality of wines that comes out of this region.
2015 Evans & Tate Karridale Chardonnay
Karridale, a sub-region of Margaret River, is subjected to the coolest and longest ripening period in the region. This coolness results in remarkable fruit sweetness and intensity. Flavours of stonefruit and citrus notes are balanced by rich brioche and toasted spice notes.
2016 Evans & Tate Broadway Chardonnay
The fruit for this wine was sourced along the popular Caves Road, referred by our winemakers as 'Broadway'. These northern, southern and central vineyards truly capture the essence of Chardonnay from Margaret River. The ripe flavoursome honeydew melon, pear and juicy peach flavours with a lovely fresh citrus line the wine.
2015 Evans & Tate Redbrook Chardonnay (Available in 2019)
A benchmark Chardonnay for Margaret River with tight citrus and lime flavours interwoven with honeydew melon and white peach driving through the palate to a very long flavoursome finish. Delicate savoury characters of dried herbs, fresh toast adds intriguing flavours and textual complexity.
